The New Zealand College of Business (known as NZCB) is registered in New Zealand with the Ministry of Education in 2004. NZCB is recognized by the New Zealand Qualification Authority (NZQA) as a tertiary level institute  (Code: 7653). NZCB is a member of Education New Zealand, Christchurch Educated, Canterbury Employer Chamber of Commerce, Independent Tertiary Education New Zealand, Study Auckland and Retail New Zealand.

NZCB has the best student-to-staff ratio level. It has less than ten students for every staff member which is comparable to the top 100 universities in the world. In 2014 NZCB received high performance at the i-graduate International Student Barometer, which has found that NZCB has performed really well in various aspects, with 100% satisfaction rate for a range of indicators. We have full campus facilities to enhance student life. We can offer spacious learning areas, advanced teaching equipment, computer labs, library, health and medical centre, student accommodation, bookshop, copy centre, free on-campus Wi-Fi and recreation centre. Also our Lincoln Campus is an independent institute permanently located inside Lincoln University. NZCB students are part of the campus community and have access to the university facilities.

Student Services

Studying away from home can raise many questions for students and NZCB has many ways to assess your needs for guidance and support, and to meet those needs so that you can study successfully and achieve your goals. NZCB constantly seeks to make each student’s study and stay in New Zealand as an enriching experience as possible. The Student Liaison Officer is responsible for students enrolled at NZCB for the duration of their program.

  • We will provide orientation program to students. Students are briefed on the rules and policies of NZCB and New Zealand. It is also the time for students to make friends across the different faculties.
  • NZCB recommends accommodation Agent to its students. It places great emphasis on helping students find suitable accommodation.
  • Student mentor program to groom leaders and to provide a source of guidance and assistance to students who faces problems.
  • Airport meeting service with transport to your accommodation is available on request.
  • Introduction to local services e.g. bank, library, Information Centre, medical centre.
  • Immigration – visa extensions and enquiries
  • Day to day matters, e.g. ID Card, local services
  • Career planning and career workshops such as “Effective Resume Writing” and “Effective Interview Techniques” to prepare graduating students for job search.

  • Medical and Travel Insurance is compulsory as medical attention in another country can be very expensive.

Ten Reasons to Study at NZCB

Students and staff come from all over the world to study and teach at NZCB. Our programmes focus on the global marketplace and many of our students find work offshore after graduation. We have PASS study programme with Lincoln University. Free pre-bachelor and pre-master programmes are provided to Diploma course students.

NZCB has formally established co-operative and academic relationships with University of Canterbury, Lincoln University and Massey University. NZCB programs provide pathways to bachelor degree, and master degree.

NZCB has the best student -to-staff ratio, it has less than ten students for every staff member, which is comparable to the top 100 universities in the world. NZCB has been educating international students for over 12 years. The smaller class sizes provide our lecturers enough time to get to know students’ personal study needs and help students set realistic targets. We are here to help students during their stay and graduate with NZCB.

Once graduating with a one year qualification at level 7 or two years qualification at level 5 & 6, you can apply for a 12 months post – study work visa, and you can apply for a further visa for up to two years under the study to work under skilled migrant category; you can get 50 points for your qualification when you apply for permanent residency in NZ.

Orientation programme will be arranged for the new students, to help the students get the most benefit from their studies at the College. The orientation programme will also assist a new student to settle into New Zealand.

All the lecturers at the College are highly qualified and trained professionals. Most of our lecturers hold NZ master degrees and PhDs. Our lecturers have wide experience in teaching international students.

You can get up to 16 weeks free IESOL or NZCEL English tuition when you enrol in a one year or longer Diploma programme with NZCB.

NZCB have internships, work placement, industry and community connections in place to help you find work, in New Zealand and abroad.
